About Mehnagar Fort & Madilaha Tank
A ruined brick fort and a very large tank built in the late 16th century by Harbans Singh, a Rajput chief who held the estate under Akbar. The fort walls stand in parts and the tank, called Madilaha, is the main sight, several hundred metres across with old ghats and a pavilion on the water. A local outing rather than a destination, about 25 km south of Azamgarh.
