About Durvasa Ashram
A riverside ashram at the meeting of the Tons and the Majhui, about 6 km north of Phulpur, held to be where the sage Durvasa did penance. The temple and the ghats are modern; the Kartik Purnima fair in November is the event, with a bathing crowd of lakhs and a big rural market. The Dattatreya ashram, another sage site, is a few kilometres away. Both rivers spread wide in the monsoon and the ghats go under.
