About Mangla Gauri Temple
One of the 51 Shakti Peeths, on the low Mangalagauri hill a short way from Vishnupad, where the breast of Sati is said to have fallen, and the goddess is worshipped in that form. The shrine is small and old, mentioned in the Puranas, with two rounded stones as the object of worship. It is a working temple rather than a monument, and Navratri fills the steps. Ten minutes' climb.
