About Mahet: Angulimala and Anathapindika Stupas
Mahet is the walled city of ancient Sravasti, capital of Kosala, a crescent of earthen ramparts by the old course of the Rapti. Inside are two big brick mounds: Pakki Kuti, identified with the stupa of Angulimala, the bandit who became a monk, and Kachchi Kuti, with that of Anathapindika. Both are climbable and the view over the ramparts and fields is the best in Shravasti.
