About Madan Mohan Ji temple
The Krishna image of Madan Mohan was carried out of Vrindavan ahead of Aurangzeb and came to Karauli in 1748 under Gopal Singh, who built the temple beside his palace. It is the living heart of the town, with a stream of local devotees through the day and Braj-style singing at aarti. The palace is next door.
