About Karu Khirhari Sthan, Mahpura
Baba Karu Khirhari is the cowherd deity of the Kosi belt, and Mahpura, a few kilometres from Saharsa town, is his main shrine. Herders and farmers offer milk and curd here, and the temple runs a large cattle shelter. It is a folk cult more than a grand temple, which is exactly why it is worth a stop.
