About Kanaka Durga Temple

The Kanaka Durga temple sits on Indrakeeladri hill above the Krishna river in the heart of Vijayawada and is the most visited shrine in the city. It is one of the major Shakti temples of Andhra Pradesh. The Dasara Navaratri festival in September or October brings lakhs of pilgrims and the goddess is dressed in a different form each day. A ghat road and steps both reach the top, and the view over the Prakasam barrage is good in the evening.
