About Bhavani Island
Bhavani Island is a large river island in the Krishna, just upstream of Prakasam barrage in Vijayawada, run as a picnic and water sports destination by the state tourism department. Boats leave from Berm Park on the city side and take a few minutes. On the island there are gardens, a water park, boating, zip lines and cottages for overnight stays. Evenings and winter holidays are the busiest.
