About Kabini
The backwater of the Kabini reservoir at Karapura, on the Mysuru side of the river opposite Nagarhole. Resorts and the state run Jungle Lodges arrange jeep safaris into the forest and boat safaris along the shore. In the dry months of March to May, elephants gather on the receding banks in large numbers, and sightings of tiger and leopard are regular. It is about 80 km from Mysuru via H.D. Kote and is almost always visited as a stay of one or two nights.
