About Juna Barmer
The original Barmer, founded in the 12th century and abandoned when the town moved to its present site under Rawat Bhima. What is left is a ruined fort wall, an old Jain temple with carved pillars and inscriptions, and a scatter of foundations in the scrub about 25 km from the city. Few people go and there are no facilities, but with Kiradu it makes a half day of old Barmer.
