About Jogimatti

A forested hill range south of Chitradurga town, the highest ground in the district and declared a wildlife sanctuary in 2015. A road from the town climbs to a small forest rest house and viewpoint among wind turbines, and the Himavat Kedara cave shrine has a seasonal waterfall that runs after good rain. Sloth bear, leopard and blackbuck live in the sanctuary. Check at the forest gate for timings, as entry is limited to daylight hours.
