About Jhansi Fort
Bir Singh Deo of Orchha built the fort on Bangra hill in 1613, but everyone comes for 1857. Rani Lakshmibai held it against Hugh Rose for two weeks in April 1858 and, the story goes, jumped the wall on horseback with her son on her back. The Karak Bijli cannon, the Ganesh temple where she was married and the jumping point are all inside. The light and sound show runs in the evening.
