About Barua Sagar
A lake town 24 km from Jhansi on the Khajuraho road. Udit Singh of Orchha dammed a Betwa tributary here in the early 18th century and built the fort above the water. The Jarai ka Math, a 9th century Pratihara temple with carving worth an hour, stands on the edge of the village, and the Betwa itself is a short walk behind. Boating on the lake in season.
