About Jhalrapatan Surya temple
The old walled town of Jhalrapatan, seven kilometres from Jhalawar, has a 10th-century Sun temple in the middle of the bazaar, known locally as Padmanabh, with a tall sculpted spire in the Khajuraho manner and Vishnu now worshipped inside. The Shantinath Jain temple of the 11th century is nearby. The town was called the city of bells for the number of its temples.
