About Rani Bhatiyani Temple, Jasol
Rani Bhatiyani, or Majisa, was Swaroop Kanwar, a Jaisalmer princess married into the Jasol house who died young in the 18th century and became a folk goddess after the Manganiyar musicians of the region began singing of her. Her temple at Jasol on the Luni is one of the busiest folk shrines in western Rajasthan, and the Manganiyars still sing there. Five minutes from Balotra town.
