The mother's market of Imphal, run only by women and often called the biggest all women market in the world, with thousands of traders in three large blocks. Shawls, handloom cloth, local vegetables, fish, pottery and the famous Manipuri black rice are all sold here. Go in the morning when the market is busy, bargain gently and ask before you take photos. It closes in the late afternoon.
