About Dargah Hafiz Rahmat Khan
Hafiz Rahmat Khan, regent of the Rohillas, made Pilibhit his seat and in 1769 built its Jama Masjid as a smaller copy of the one in Delhi, with a grand gateway that still stands. He was killed fighting the Nawab of Awadh and the Company at Miranpur Katra in 1774, and his tomb is in the town. Together they are the one real monument of the Rohilla state.
