About Daulatabad (Devgiri)

A conical granite hill fortified so thoroughly it was considered impregnable, a moat with crocodiles, and a pitch-dark spiral tunnel through the rock where defenders could trap attackers. Muhammad bin Tughlaq famously forced Delhi's entire population to march here in 1327 and then marched them back.
