About Chandika Sthan

A Shakti Peeth on the eastern edge of Munger where, by tradition, the left eye of Sati fell, which is why people with eye trouble come here. The shrine is a small dark chamber and the goddess is worshipped mainly as a pair of eyes. Navratri is the great occasion; Karna of the Mahabharata is said to have worshipped here, which Munger's own legends are full of.
