About Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary

Around 680 sq km of sal and dry forest over the Kharagpur hills south of Munger, notified in 1976, with several hot springs of which the Bhimbandh spring itself is the best known. There are leopard, nilgai, sambar, wild boar and good winter birds, though sightings are far from guaranteed. A permit from the forest office is needed, tracks are rough, and the whole thing shuts in the monsoon.
