About Alpather Lake
A high mountain lake that stays frozen until June, reached by a walk from Gulmarg through Khilanmarg and over the snow patches. The lake is surrounded by the Apharwat range, and the whole trail is gentle in summer but can be hard going through snow. Pack warm clothes and go with a local guide.
