About Valley of Flowers
A high alpine valley in the Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, covered in hundreds of kinds of flowers each monsoon. You trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria, about 13 km, and then 4 km into the valley, which is open to day visitors only. The valley opens in June and is at its best in July and August, and closes at the end of October. It rains most days, so waterproofs and a good trek are a must.
