About Auli
A meadow above Joshimath at about 2,800 metres, known as the ski slopes of Uttarakhand, with a close view of Nanda Devi and the nearby peaks. Skiing is possible from January to March, when there is snow. The way up is by road or the Joshimath ropeway, but Joshimath has had land subsidence problems, so check the road and the ropeway before you plan. In summer it is a lovely meadow for walking.
