About Tuirial Reservoir
The lake behind the 60 MW Tuirial hydel dam, commissioned in 2017 and the largest reservoir in Mizoram, filling the Tuirial valley east of Kolasib. It is new as a place to visit: a few viewpoints, boating being set up, and quiet water between forested hills. Roads to it are slow, so treat it as a half day from Kolasib rather than a stop from Aizawl.
What to see and do
- The largest reservoir in the state
- Forested hills around the water
- Tuirial dam, 2017
- Slow road from Kolasib
Part of Patkai, Naga and Mizo Hills.
