About Bairabi Dam
A reservoir on the Tlawng at Bairabi, where Mizoram meets the Assam plain and where the only railhead in the state ended until the line was pushed through to Sairang in 2025. The dam is a local picnic and boating spot rather than a sight, low and hot compared with the hills. Sensible as a stop if you come in by road from Silchar.
What to see and do
- Boating on the Tlawng reservoir
- The old Bairabi railhead
- The Assam plain beginning
- Kolasib town 40 minutes uphill
Part of Patkai, Naga and Mizo Hills.
