About Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace

A two storey wooden palace finished in 1791 and used by Tipu Sultan as a summer retreat. It is built almost entirely of teak, with carved pillars, painted arches and balconies from which he held court. A small museum on the ground floor displays his clothes, coins and a replica of the famous mechanical tiger. It stands beside the Venkataramana temple and the remains of the Bengaluru fort, near the KR Market.
