About Bannerghatta National Park

A forest of about 260 sq km on the southern edge of Bengaluru, with the Bannerghatta Biological Park at its entrance. The bus safari drives past lions, tigers, bears and elephants kept in large enclosures, and the zoo and butterfly park are next to the ticket counter. Wild elephants still move through the outer forest, which connects to the Cauvery sanctuary. It is 25 km from the city centre by road and is closed every Tuesday.
