About Ubbalamadugu Falls (Tada Falls)

A waterfall in the Kambakam hills near Varadaiahpalem, reached by an 8 km trek from the forest gate along a stream bed over boulders, the last part a scramble. It is the most popular day trek from Chennai (about 90 km), so weekends after the north east monsoon are crowded. A Shiva temple stands part way up; carry food and water, start early, wear grippy footwear and avoid the trek after heavy rain when the stream rises.
