About Srikalahasti Temple
The Vayu (air) linga of the five element Shiva temples, on the Swarnamukhi river 36 km east of Tirupati. It is the main place in south India for the Rahu Ketu Sarpa Dosha Nivarana puja, performed at fixed slots through the day on a ticket; the lamp in the sanctum flickers without a draught, which devotees attribute to the linga of air. The town is also known for kalamkari hand painted textiles, and the temple is one of the few that stays open during eclipses.
