About Stongdey Monastery
A well kept monastery on a spur above a broad, green stretch of the Stod valley, founded in the 11th century and belonging to the Gelug order. The festival of Gustor in summer is one of the larger events in the valley. It is a quiet and attractive stop on the road from Padum.
