About Karsha Monastery
The largest monastery in Zanskar, a cluster of white buildings clinging to a hillside above the Stod river, near Padum. It has a number of temples with old murals and a strong monastic school, with the Gelug order. The view down the valley is lovely, particularly in the late afternoon.
