About Simultala
From the late 19th century, Bengali families came to Simultala for its dry air and low hills, and the old bungalows and the quiet are still there. It is not a hill station in the Himalayan sense, just a plateau-edge village at about 200 m with rocky outcrops and sal, but in the cool months it is one of the most restful places in Bihar. Trains on the Jasidih-Jhajha line stop here; there is little to do, which is the point.
What to see and do
- Old Bengali bungalows
- Rocky outcrops and sal patches
- Walks to nearby villages and hillocks
