About Sheetla Devi Temple, Mainpuri
Mainpuri's main Devi temple, given to Sheetla Mata, who is worshipped for protection from smallpox and fevers. The Navratri fairs, particularly Chaitra Navratri in March or April, run for the full nine days with a large mela on the ground beside it, and Ashtami is the crowded day. Ordinary and quiet at other times.
