About Shahi Katra Masjid
The old Jama Masjid of Maunath Bhanjan, built in the reign of Shah Jahan, whose daughter Jahanara is traditionally credited with the town's katra market, standing in the middle of what is now a noisy powerloom town. Three domes, a pillared hall and a courtyard. Mau itself is worth a walk: the lanes rattle with looms weaving cheap sarees for all of north India, and the Tamsa river runs along the edge of town.
