About Dohrighat
A small town on the south bank of the Saryu, the Ghaghra, where the Mau to Gorakhpur road crosses the river. The ghats fill for the Kartik Purnima bathing fair in November, one of the biggest in the district, and are otherwise quiet with a few temples and boats. The Ghaghra is a big, wandering river and floods badly most years; the ghats and the low town go under in August and September.
