About Patna Bird Sanctuary

The smallest bird sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh, a single square kilometre of lake near Jalesar notified in 1991, and busy out of all proportion to its size in winter, when the counts of ducks, geese and coot regularly run into tens of thousands. Painted storks and sarus are resident. There is a watchtower and a path around the water, and it takes two hours to do properly.
