About Parshuram Kund
The pool in the Lohit gorge where, the story goes, Parshuram washed away the sin of killing his mother and the axe fell from his hand. It is the holiest place in the state for Hindus, and on Makar Sankranti, 14 January, tens of thousands come from Assam and beyond to bathe in the cold river. The rest of the year it is a quiet gorge with steps down to the water, a couple of temples and the road bridge across the Lohit above it. About 25 km from Tezu.
