About Pangong Tso

A long, brackish lake at about 4,350 metres, with blue and turquoise water that changes colour through the day. It stretches into Tibet, and only about a third lies in India. Most visitors stay at Spangmik or Lukung in camps, and the night sky is superb. Permits are needed, and it is very cold even in summer.
