About Naugarh Fort & Latif Shah Dam

A small fort of the Kashi rulers at the edge of the Vindhyan forest, built as a hunting seat and later used as a government office; the rooms are plain, the walls and gateways intact, the view of hills. Below the town the Karmanasa is held by the Naugarh dam and, downstream, the older Latif Shah dam, whose spillway makes a broad sheet of falling water in August and September. Both are local picnic spots with very little around them.
