About Naini Lake, Nainital
A kidney-shaped lake in a bowl of hills, around which the old hill station of Nainital grew, with the Naina Devi temple at its northern end. Boats on the lake, the Mall Road, a cable car to Snow View and horse rides are the usual things. It is crowded in summer and on weekends, and it gets cold in winter, with rare snow. Cars are not allowed on the Mall Road in some hours, so park at the edge.
