About Jim Corbett National Park
India's oldest national park, set up in 1936, on the Ramganga, with sal forest, grassland and a good tiger population, along with elephants and many birds. The zones are Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela and others, and safaris must be booked online in advance, with a stay inside Dhikala being the prized one. Most zones are shut for the monsoon from July to mid-October, while Jhirna and Dhela stay open all year. Ramnagar is the gateway, 240 km from Delhi.
