About Malpe Beach
Malpe is the beach and fishing harbour of Udupi, 6 km west of the town, with a wide sandy shore, a floating sea walk and a full set of water sports run by the beach development council. The harbour is one of the largest on the coast and the daily fish landing is worth a look. It is also the jetty for boats to St. Mary's Islands. Swim only near the lifeguards, as currents are strong.
