About Malegaon Fort
A ground fort rather than a hill fort, built by Naro Shankar around 1740 on the bank of the Mosam river. The walls and gates are substantial and the interior is now part of the town, so it is a walk through streets rather than a climb.
What to see and do
- Main gateway and bastions
- Mosam river frontage
- A rare well-preserved bhuikot, or ground fort
Part of Sahyadri (Western Ghats).
