About Ankai-Tankai
Twin forts facing each other across a narrow gap, with a set of rock-cut Jain caves on the way up and a sequence of carved gateways that are in better condition than most in the state. It sits well east of the main Sahyadri crest, so the landscape is drier and more open.
What to see and do
- Rock-cut Jain caves on the approach
- Seven carved gateways in sequence
- The narrow gap between the two forts
- Wide views over the Manmad plain
Part of Sahyadri (Western Ghats).
