About Madareshwar Temple
A Shiva shrine inside a natural cave on a hill on the east edge of Banswara, which the town likens to Amarnath for the setting. A short flight of steps takes you up, the cave stays cool in summer, and the view over Banswara and its hills is the reason to make the climb. Busy on Shravan Mondays and Shivratri.
What to see and do
- The lingam in the cave
- Views over Banswara town
- Shravan and Shivratri crowds
- Green hills around it after the rains
