About Arthuna Temples
The capital of the Paramara rulers of Vagad in the 11th and 12th centuries, 55 km south-west of Banswara, and now a village scattered with their ruined temples. The Mandaleshwar Shiva temple of 1080 is the best preserved, and there are Jain shrines, a Hanuman temple and a great deal of loose sculpture. It is the sort of site where you wander between fields from one ruin to the next.
