About Kosi Barrage, Bhimnagar
The barrage that tries to hold the Kosi, built between 1959 and 1963 under the 1954 India-Nepal agreement and standing just across the border at Hanuman Nagar with Bhimnagar on the Indian side. The Kosi has shifted its course more than 100 km westward in two centuries and broke its eastern embankment upstream at Kusaha in 2008. Stand on it and you understand the river.
