About Bhaptiyahi Kosi Embankment
The eastern Kosi embankment runs for tens of kilometres through Supaul, and the stretch near Bhaptiyahi is as good as any to walk a few kilometres of it. On one side are the villages the embankment protects, on the other the silt flats, channels and cattle of the river inside the bund. Go in winter; the road on top is impassable in the rains.
What to see and do
- Walking the embankment top
- The floodplain inside the bund
- Kosi channels and sandbanks
- Saraigarh and the Mahasetu close by
