About Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum
One man spent sixty years collecting the everyday objects of Indian life, over 20,000 of them, from oil lamps and nutcrackers to writing sets and carved door frames. The recreated Mastani Mahal, moved here panel by panel from Wai, is the centrepiece.
What to see and do
- Mastani Mahal, reassembled from Wai
- Room after room of oil lamps
- Musical instruments and betel-nut cutters
- Carved wooden doors and windows
- One of India’s great personal collections
