About Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple

An 11th century Chola temple to Varasiddhi Vinayaka, 12 km from Chittoor on the Bengaluru highway, where the idol stands in a well and is said to be slowly growing. People come to swear oaths before the deity, and local disputes are traditionally settled by an oath taken here after a dip in the tank. The Brahmotsavam around Ganesh Chaturthi runs for around 20 days in September and is the busiest time.
